{"id":11,"date":"2020-03-22T02:48:43","date_gmt":"2020-03-22T02:48:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/review.imagined.my\/wordpress-5.3.2\/wordpress\/?page_id=11"},"modified":"2020-07-11T08:14:21","modified_gmt":"2020-07-11T08:14:21","slug":"submissions","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/review.imagined.my\/?page_id=11","title":{"rendered":"Submissions"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h4><strong>Submission of Manuscripts&nbsp;<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>General Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Please send all submissions to charles@imagined.my.<\/li><li>Submissions should be made in .doc, .docx or .odt format for editing.<\/li><li>The length of your submission should be 3,000-3,500 words for research essays, 1,500-2,500 words for op-eds, and 1,000-2,000 for book reviews.\u00a0 Longer essays can be considered if the length is justified by the depth and quality of the analysis.\u00a0 <\/li><li>Please submit a short biographical note of up to 50 words and one (1) high-resolution author photo. These will be featured alongside your essay upon publication.<\/li><li>Please use 1.5 line spacing throughout (including notes and quotations), 12pt. font throughout the main text, and 10pt. for footnotes. Keep your essay formatting as light and clean as possible.<\/li><li>Please clearly indicate section titles in bold.<\/li><li>Pages should be numbered throughout. <\/li><li>As long as the references are cited in full in footnotes, no bibliography is required. <\/li><li>For photographic essays, images should be submitted separately in high-resolution format. <\/li><li>If the essay is under consideration elsewhere, please let us know. We will still consider it for publication but would like to agree on terms to avoid last minute withdrawals. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Formatting<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>For submissions in English,\nwe accept both UK and US systems. Please be consistent within your article.&nbsp; <\/li><li>For submissions in Bahasa\nMalaysia, we stand guided by the latest Kamus Dewan. <\/li><li>Italicize foreign words\nin the text, excluding proper names. E.g. if your submission is in English,\nitalicize <em>agama<\/em> but not Parti Islam Se-Malaysia.<\/li><li>First paragraphs after\nall headings should not be indented. <\/li><li>Subsequent paragraphs\nshould be indented but do not indent continuing paragraphs after an\nextract\/blockquote.&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/li><li>For extract quotations\nover five lines, please indent with space above and below the extract. Do not use\nquotation marks and do not start or end in ellipses (\u2026).<\/li><li>Do not italicize\nquotations, unless it has been italicized in the original source text.&nbsp; <\/li><li>Please use single quotation\nmarks for quotations integrated within the text (\u2018 \u2019) and double quotation\nmarks for quotes within quotes (\u201c \u201d). No quotation marks are necessary for\nindented quotations. <\/li><li>Write dates in full,\navoiding use of th, nd, etc. E.g. 31 January 2019, instead of Jan 31 2019 or January\n31<sup>st<\/sup>, etc.&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>References <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>IM Review uses the\nChicago reference system.<\/li><li>IM Review uses footnotes\nand not endnotes. We also do not include a bibliography at the end of every\nessay. <\/li><li>For explanation\/expansion\non the main text, footnotes should be kept to a minimum and incorporated into\nthe main text wherever possible.&nbsp; <\/li><li>On the first instance the\nreference should be set out in full, giving the full name, full title, place of\npublication, publisher, year of publication and page numbers.<\/li><li>Use Ibid.
