About IM Review

Imagined Malaysia Review is a collection of writings that offers new perspectives on history, culture, and current affairs in Southeast Asia.

Brought to you by the people behind Imagined Malaysia, Imagined Malaysia Review is a yearly collection of writings on the history, culture and current affairs of Malaysia and Southeast Asia. Consisting of research pieces, think pieces, books reviews and photo essays, Imagined Malaysia Review looks to take the study of the region’s history outside of the confines of the university, publishing important and relevant research which engages the wider public and promotes narratives which highlight alternative and marginalised perspectives, and inclusive and transnational histories.

Imagined Malaysia Review is a student-led initiative. If you wish to submit an essay/book review/other details can be found here. If you would like to support our work consider donating to Imagined Malaysia. For anything else please get in touch!
